My work life so far at WTVM

So far everything has been going well at WTVM. I’m really enjoying my job there and my new co-workers. I’m almost done with training on the cameras and will filming unsupervised soon. I have already been filming several news segments already on my own but I am still not 100% done with the training process. So far, my job duties are pretty normal for a news content specialist. I pretty much set up the set before each show and make sure the anchors, audio tech, master control, etc, get a rundown the start of each show.

The main part of my job is making sure that each and every shot is precise and accurate. If any shot is messed up, I will definitely hear about it so I always feel the pressure to perfect each and every one of my camera shots for each show.

It’s a good feeling to be able to tell my friends and family I work at a news station and I actually enjoy it. Everyday I learn something new and grow and I think that is the ultimate goal and purpose of me being here.
