This past week was Collegiate Challenge 2014. It was a huge success and a lot of fun. After weeks of preparation, we are closing this chapter. I sent out thank you letters to several people in the community who were so vital to the success of Collegiate Challenge. Several churches in the community hosted students, fed them, or let us use their venues.
In my Public Relations Management course, we are constantly being reminded how important relationships are within the community. Building and maintaining those relationships is essential. A simple thank you note can go a long way, especially after all the work these different members have done for us.
I also got the opportunity to write another blog on CAHFH website about Collegiate Challenge. We had several sponsors and writing this blog was just another way we could thank them.
Next on the horizon, in the not so distant future is “A Feathered Affair.” May 8 is our next big event and is a birdhouse auction. A couple posts ago, I shared photos of boxes and boxes of water bottles, ketchup, mustard, and other random things stored in Habitat offices.
These next couple of weeks, it’s going to be birdhouses in our office.
We’re ok with it though. It’s a sure sign that things are happening are at CAHFH, and we’re making a difference, one birdhouse at a time.
